Built on Family, Hard Work, and a Lifetime in the Trades

At 17, Galen started his own farrier business while continuing to work in roofing. Over the next several years, he balanced both trades along with diesel work on pickups, gaining valuable hands-on experience and learning what it takes to run a business. At 23, after getting married and moving from the Moscow area to Coeur d’Alene, he made the decision to focus fully on construction and opened his own roofing company.

Over the past 18+ years, Galen has had the opportunity to work with and build relationships with many great people throughout North Idaho. While roofing remained the foundation of the business, his experience naturally expanded into other areas. He went on to start Adrenaline Mountain Adventures, a snowmobile rental company, and later built Patriot Equipment, Rentals, and Excavation — bringing excavation and site work in-house.

Today, Blue Collar Contracting represents the next step — a full-service construction company focused on handling projects from site prep and land development all the way through exterior completion. The goal is simple: provide a complete, start-to-finish solution while building lasting relationships with customers and contractors alike.

Galen and his wife live south of Coeur d’Alene with their seven children. North Idaho is home, and it’s where they plan to stay — continuing to work hard, serve their community, and pass down the same values to the next generation.
